9:27 am in Berytech News, Entrepreneurship, General by Tania Saba Mazraani

From April 26 to 29, 2012 Berytech will be at the Business Entrepreneurship Forum in BIEL (held in the sideline of

Forward), talking to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs about innovative ways in which we can support projects and startups.

This much anticipated event will gather for the first time peers from the entrepreneurship ecosystem, friendly, familiar faces such as the good people from Amideast/Cisco Entrepreneurship Institute, Endeavor, Altcity, MIT Enterprise Forum, etc. So there’s a lot to see! Don’t miss out on the chance to stop by Berytech’s booth and chat with our team members (Booth L8-M7).

Berytech will also be holding it’s second Seed up your Startup competition in a pitching festival that will take place live over two days on April 26 and 27. The contestants will not only pitch in a public forum, but the audience will have its own say by voting, using specially provided handheld devices, for the most meritorious projects. Winners will walk away with a comprehensive incubation program and up to $25K in seed money.

It’s happening at the Business Entrepreneurship Forum, and we’re not planning to miss any of it. Are you?!

Expressing my Passion for Entrepreneurship

3:40 pm in Entrepreneurship, Meet the Entrepreneurs by Hind Hobeika

Being entrepreneur is my passion! My thinking has no limits! Running a business gave the possibility of applying all of my crazy ideas and gave me the ability to determine my own working hours and location, what makes it fun at the same time.

I combined my passion for swimming and my educational background as engineer by creating Butterfleye which develops, as a starting product, smart swimming goggles that can track the swimmer’s heart rate with instant visual feedback. Its patent is also a platform for the development of many other applications in the field of sports technology, biomedical devices and data storage, creating more added value and social impact. … when GEW comes knocking on our doors. Global Entrepreneurship Week has become a date a lot of people look forward to around the globe and Lebanon is no exception. During one week in November, 120 countries will be organizing events between the 14th and the 20th intended to celebrate, inspire and invigorate entrepreneurship. Much more than 7 days, GEW is a movement of people, ideas and dreams.

Lebanon’s GEW coalition is growing bigger and stronger with the addition of new partners to the coalition. In this 2011 edition, 25 partners will be organizing more than 35 activities, starting tomorrow.

And just like last year, the buzz, the spirit of collaboration, the passion about entrepreneurship is still there. But most importantly as partners, we are organizing these events, so that you, the entrepreneur, will be there too.

So if you are starting in business, or looking to grow your existing company, if you want to connect with like-minded peer, or find out who can fund and support you going forward, than this week is for you.
